Senior Project Engineer W3Global Role Overview Client is currently seeking a Construction Project Engineer to join our Engineering, Procurement, & Construction (EPC) team. These roles focus on creating a sustainable circular economy for lithium-ion batteries by transforming recycled materials into battery materials for new lithium-ion battery production. The Project Engineer will work directly with the Construction Manager and Superintendents and will coordinate with project management, infrastructure engineering, project controls and procurement from preconstruction through completion and start of production. The Project Engineer will manage all specific scopes of construction, including scheduling trade contractors, utility, structure, and vendor tool installations. Responsibilities include resolving day‑to‑day construction issues, performing inspections to ensure compliance with plans and specifications, tracking project schedule and budget, and managing RFIs, submittals, procurement/RFPs, and the schedule of assigned scopes. Ownership of the construction scopes assigned to the Project Engineer is required. Responsibilities Meet daily with subcontractors/crews to review production schedule and confirm all materials, equipment, and resources are available to keep production on schedule and within budget. Collect, coordinate, and analyze shop drawings, design specifications, material requirements and project data throughout the project to ensure quality and contract specification compliance. Provide technical input for project work plan and scheduling, identifying risk elements that could impact budget or schedule. Evaluate daily production, schedule, and budget projections to accurately track project performance and document daily activities in Company‑approved methods and technologies. Notify team members and manager of significant schedule changes and recommend solutions for management consideration. Manage RFIs, submittals, procurement, and schedule of the scopes assigned. Perform additional assignments per management direction. Remit accurate project quantity input and controls using assigned project cost coding to ensure accurate financial reporting. Review and approve daily timecards for all Company construction crews, resolving inquiries as needed. Review project specifications for quality assurance and initiate certificates, inspections and documentation regarding construction production. Plan field layout and mark utilities and commercial lines before production. Initiate and manage required permits before work begins. Conduct required Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) to ensure safety and compliance. Attend weekly safety meetings, present field analysis as needed. Assist estimating team with project schedules and technical input. Assist development of design drawings and provide technical input. Coordinate subcontractor work methods, schedule and crews. Reconcile job close‑out checklist with designers and subcontractors. Maintain knowledge of Company values and strategic plan. Desired Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (required). 5+ years of construction engineering, scheduling or design experience (required). Intermediate knowledge of cost coding, cost savings, budget and other project‑related financial implications (required). Intermediate knowledge of scheduling processes and industry best practices. Intermediate interpersonal relationship and communication skills. Knowledge of construction equipment, techniques, drawings, specifications, materials and applicable standards. Ability to assume responsibility, interface and communicate effectively with others. Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast‑paced environment. Skill in verbal and written communication. Proven self‑starter and self‑motivated to learn and grow knowledge. Preferred: Knowledge of construction scheduling and production time management. Construction engineering experience or knowledge (required). A passion for sustainability and making the world a better place. Physical Requirements Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA and other standards. Maintain regular, punctual attendance. Bend, lift and carry objects over 50 lbs. Walk up and down stairs while carrying weight. Talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone. Working Conditions Environment may include office and outdoors, inclement weather conditions. Exposure to hazardous materials, loud noise, fires or extreme heat/cold. Essential physical requirements such as climbing, standing, stooping, typing. Required to work weekends, nights, or be on‑call as a regular part of the job.
