Travel Nurse RN

**Job Specialty:** Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
**Job Duration:** 12 weeks
**Shift:** Day Shift, 7 AM - 7 PM
**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week
**Experience:** Minimum 2 years of experience required, with experience in NICU or Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) preferred.
**License:** Current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner in the state of practice; if declaring a National License Compact (NLC) state as the primary state of residency, meet the licensure requirements in the home state.
**Certifications:** Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
**Must-Have:** Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider status according to the American Heart Association.
**Job Description:**
- Collect data pertinent to the healthcare consumer's health or the situation.
- Analyze assessment data to determine actual or potential diagnoses, problems, and issues.
- Identify expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the healthcare consumer or the situation.
- Develop a plan that prescribes strategies to attain expected, measurable outcomes.
- Implement the identified plan, coordinate care delivery, and employ strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
- Delegate elements of care to appropriate healthcare workers in accordance with any applicable legal or policy parameters or principles.
- Evaluate progress toward attainment of goals and outcomes.
- Practice in a manner that is congruent with principles of cultural diversity and inclusion.
- Communicate effectively in all areas of practice.
- Collaborate with the healthcare consumer and other key stakeholders in the conduct of nursing practice.
- Demonstrate leadership in the professional practice setting and the profession.
- Seek knowledge and competence that reflects current nursing practice and promotes futuristic thinking.
- Integrate evidence and research findings into practice.
- Contribute to quality nursing practice.
- Evaluate one's own and others' nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards and guidelines, relevant statutes, rules, and regulations.
- Utilize appropriate resources to plan, provide, and sustain evidence-based nursing services that are safe, effective, and fiscally responsible.
- Practice in an environmentally safe and healthy manner.
- Practice ethically.
- Promote shared governance or facility decision-making activities, developing, and nurturing research to positively affect clinical outcomes and promotion.
**Physical Requirements:**
- Work requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling.
- Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.
- Requires an intact sense of sight, hearing, smell, and touch, and finger dexterity.
- Must have critical thinking and the ability to concentrate.
- Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions.
**Schedule Notes:**
- Primary and float locations available within NICU.
- Specific holidays and time-off requests may not be approved.
**Dress Code:** Navy blue scrubs.
