Overview We are seeking a Senior Azure Data Engineer to join a high-impact, fast-paced shared services team supporting multiple parallel initiatives. This role is ideal for an experienced data engineer who thrives in cloud-native environments, leads by example, and takes ownership of data pipeline quality, reliability, and scalability. You will play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining Azure-based data engineering solutions with a strong emphasis on Databricks, PySpark, and Python , while driving best practices around CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and data governance. What You’ll Do Design, develop, and optimize scalable data pipelines using Azure Databricks and PySpark Ingest and transform diverse data formats (Avro, JSON, CSV) at scale Lead and contribute to data orchestration and pipeline reliability , resolving production and connectivity issues Apply Terraform to provision and manage cloud infrastructure Enforce code quality standards , including reviews, testing, and CI/CD Reduce technical debt and remediate vulnerabilities across the data platform Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers Collaborate with Cloud Security, DevOps, Network Security, Product, and LOB teams Communicate clearly with technical and business stakeholders Maintain thorough documentation to support operational excellence Required Technical Skills Azure Cloud (Data Services) Azure Databricks PySpark & Python Object-Oriented Programming Delta Sharing Terraform (Infrastructure as Code) CI/CD with GitHub Actions Agile / Scrum delivery experience Nice-to-Have Skills Python unit testing frameworks (pytest, unittest) Databricks Unity Catalog Databricks Asset Bundles Mocking frameworks for unit testing Experience in shared services or multi-initiative environments Qualifications 7+ years of professional experience in data engineering Proven leadership in delivering enterprise-scale data solutions Strong problem-solving and mentoring mindset Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills What You'll Get SDS, Inc. provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, marital status, amnesty, or status as a covered veteran in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
