Principal Electrical Systems Engineer - UAVs Position Title: Principal Electrical Systems Engineer - UAVs Location: Roseville, CA Job Type: Contract Pay Rate: $70-100/hr Clearance: Must be able to acquire and maintain U.S. DoD Secret Clearance or higher; U.S. Citizen required. Job Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract opportunity located in Roseville, CA. Responsibilities: Develop subsystem and system-level test plans and reports. Lead and conduct various kinds of testing including hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL), software-in-the-loop (SWIL), avionics, subsystem, and aircraft-level testing. Lead root cause corrective action (RCCA) investigations and eliminate contributors through analysis and/or hands‑on testing. Work with the Software Engineering Team to develop software system requirements and test requirements. Support flight test planning, aircraft preparation, and test execution at government test ranges. Develop system architectures for new and existing systems. Conduct trade studies and perform design research of engineering concepts and explorations to determine optimal requirements and system architecture. Develop system/subsystem interface definitions, system schematics, and system design documentation; perform peer reviews of fellow team members' work. Participate in planning, design, testing, and deployment of moderately complex, engineered systems and software to ensure conformance with functional specifications and customer requirements. Lead or support system engineering technical reviews (SETR) including Test Readiness Reviews (TRR). Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering or related discipline. 11-20 years of industry experience. Ability to acquire and maintain a U.S. DoD Secret Clearance or higher. Sharp analytical abilities, excellent communication skills, and ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment. Demonstrated technical leadership capabilities. Results‑oriented, sense of ownership, urgency, and drive. Experience in the Defense and/or Aerospace industry is a must. Hands‑on integration & test experience with aircraft systems and/or subsystems is a must. Demonstrated testing best practices including managing test configurations, adhering to safety and training procedures, and organizing data collection and analysis.
