Responsibilities:

Review past incidences, claims and liability reports to identify the risks the facility is facing.
Conduct research on various risks and file reports of the findings to the management.
Provide recommendations and solutions to immediate problems.
Create a risk management plan to help avert future problems.
Conduct risk management training to other staff members.
Develop new policies and procedures.
Monitor the actions of other staff or their work environment to see if they comply with the existing policies and procedures.
Associate degree in nursing, public health, epidemiology, clinical laboratory science, medical technology or related field.
Has completed specialized training in infection prevention and control.
Certification in Infection Control and Epidemiology preferred.
Experience within a hospital, nursing care center or other related healthcare setting.
Strong communication skills with the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public
Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities.
