The role includes recruiting, hiring, training, and evaluating employees while maintaining a keen focus on customer service and store sales. Responsibilities Working with customers— Provide excellent customer service by engaging with customers, encouraging the store team to do the same, greeting and thanking each customer, and supporting peak hours. Handle complaints quickly and courteously; conduct accurate and efficient transactions. Day-to-day store operations— Oversee all aspects of store operation including daily reporting, banking, inventory, bookkeeping, and fuel management. Ensure the facility, equipment, and property are well maintained and clean; observe all scheduled hours of operation; execute food programs including promotion and safety. Merchandising and sales— Ensure proper execution of marketing programs; identify opportunities to increase sales; perform all merchandising activities including pricing, promotions, suggestive selling, vendor check-in, and keeping all merchandise stocked, clean, fronted, and faced. Supervising— Oversee general operations of the assigned store; supervise employees, including scheduling, training, development, and motivation. Enforce company policies and safety requirements; monitor productivity; conduct performance evaluations and resolve conflicts promptly; review employee time entries and ensure proper clocking procedures. Financial responsibility— Manage store finances and profitability; control shortages and other expenses; prepare and participate in cash, lottery, cigarettes, and inventory audits; meet or exceed company goals for sales and controllable expenses; perform loss control functions related to cash handling and merchandise sales. Teamwork— Recruit, train, coach, and develop a successful team of associates who strive to meet customers’ needs. Exhibit professionalism in appearance, conduct, and judgment; create a positive work culture that promotes teamwork and drives performance. Working with technology— Utilize the store’s technology for calculations, shift reports, product counts, and scheduling. All Break Time employees are expected to know and adhere to company and position‑specific policies and procedures. While this description contains the primary duties of the position, employees may be expected to perform other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Prior management or leadership experience. High school diploma or GED equivalent. 18 years of age or older. Availability to work and support all shifts, including weekends and holidays. Valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance; vehicle must be locked and secured when transporting the deposit to the bank. Thrives in a fast‑paced environment. Works well individually and in leading a team. Ability to perform mathematical calculations to make change, complete shift reports, and account for product during vendor check‑in. Ability to learn new concepts, use technical materials, and consistently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery. Ability and willingness to occasionally ascend and descend ladders to handle inventory or products. Ability to perform duties and others as assigned with accuracy and minimal supervision. Physical ability to move and position products in the cooler (30°F) for up to one hour, and in the freezer (0°F). Physical ability to move and position yourself to retrieve products and supplies from shelves, counters, or stacks up to 50 pounds. Ability to visually observe and inspect items and work environment for safety concerns. Ability to remain in a standing position for up to nine hours per shift. Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English to communicate accurately with customers, coworkers, and supervisors. Ability to meet company requirements, including successful pre‑employment background check and drug test. Legal authorization to work in the United States. Preferred Skills Bachelor’s degree.
