Come join the team that is working quietly to keep the light of liberty shining As a Thermal Engineering Lead on GS, you will: Lead a team of 3-4 thermal engineers by providing technical oversight, daily tasking, mentoring, and training Perform detailed thermal design and analysis on spacecraft components and the entire spacecraft thermal system Provide technical memos and recommendations to support peer and customer reviews Present design and analysis data to the spacecraft design/engineering team, customer technical representatives, and Program Office personnel at technical interchange meetings and formal design reviews Provide review, interpretation, flow‑down, and implementation of program requirements Provide test support for component‑level and system‑level thermal tests Desired skills 15+ years of relevant professional experience in thermal analysis of space structures Experience with analysis and test of thermal environments (e.g., thermal vacuum, thermal cycling, thermal balance) Experience with engineering level computer programming (e.g. Matlab) Experience with test engineering, instrumentation, data collection, and\/or test reports Ability and desire to assume ownership of tasks and quickly and efficiently drive to closure Willingness to mentor and develop junior engineers Excellent written and verbal technical communication skills Ability to occasionally support 24\/7 activities Other Important Information By applying to this job, you are expressing interest in this position and could be considered for other career opportunities where similar skills and requirements have been identified as a match.
