Job Description Posted Friday 15 August 2025 at 04:00 The Senior Merchandise Manager – Footwear is responsible for developing and executing merchandise strategies across all DTC channels to drive sales, maximize profitability, and enhance brand positioning within the footwear category. This role requires strategic planning, product assortment management, market trend analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver compelling product ranges that meet customer needs and align with business objectives. Drive product alignment and digital execution, with a strong focus on DTC and marketplaces. The Senior Merchandise Manager reports to the VP of Merchandising & Planning and sets the merchandising assortments for the region, focusing on consumer needs, marketplace insights, and a holistic go-to-market strategy. The role involves unlocking opportunities based on deep consumer and marketplace knowledge. What You'll Do Participate in weekly merchandising meetings focusing on top/bottom sellers and key programs. Work closely with the VP of Merchandising and merchandise planning teams to maximize revenue and develop best-in-class assortments for DTC and marketplaces. Develop seasonal merchandising strategies and product assortments aligned with brand vision, sales targets, and margin goals. Create and manage the DTC merchandise calendar for timely product launches and seasonal transitions. Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and customer insights to identify growth opportunities. Oversee marketplace style selection, inventory, and pricing; analyze performance and adjust strategies accordingly. Establish gender and business unit growth strategies, collaborating with the Director of Merch Planning to build budgets and targets. Lead product feed and lifecycle decisions for DTC channels, identifying opportunities and risks. Align global and regional marketing styles and coordinate with eCommerce and stores teams to support business unit budgets. Attend and contribute to planning meetings to inform strategies and drive sales. Ensure an optimal product mix across performance, lifestyle, and fashion footwear segments. Participate in OTB meetings to understand trending categories and inventory risks, coordinating with marketing, performance marketing, and visual merchandising teams. Partner with marketing, e-commerce, retail operations, and visual merchandising to execute go-to-market plans. Present seasonal merchandise strategies, insights, and trading plans to DTC teams. Maintain understanding of local market dynamics, consumer needs, and product trends. Focus on consumer insights and monitor competitive trends. Lead with the art and science of merchandising. What You'll Bring Bachelor’s Degree and 5-7 years of relevant experience. Experience in Buying, Merchandising, Planning, or Product Management within the footwear industry at a managerial level. Proven ability to develop and implement profitable merchandising strategies. Experience with digital platforms and marketplaces. Strong analytical skills with proficiency in retail math, forecasting, and data-driven decision-making. Understanding of the footwear market, including consumer trends, competitors, and distribution channels. Knowledge of different business models such as Retail, Franchise, Ecommerce, and Supply Chain. Ability to lead and influence teams. Product knowledge and footwear experience. Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
