Since its creation, Cardiac Study Center (CSC) has contracted with Pulse Heart Institute for outpatient cardiology and billing services. CSC is a proud partner of Pulse, and has provided outpatient cardiology services in the Puget Sound Region for over 50 years. CSC partnered with MultiCare Health System to create Pulse Heart Institute in 2016 to work toward improving the health of cardiac patients.

Pulse's standard operating procedure is to employ cardiology ambulatory and billing support staff at Cardiac Study Center. This gives Pulse the dexterity to create roles that are unique to cardiac programs, which benefit our teams in their career development and resource needs in caring for our patients. This structure allows for a more personal feel for our employees, helping them feel valued.

Echocardiogram Technologist Environment and Shift details:

This role is full-time, 40 hours/ week, Monday – Friday—closed weekends and holidays.

Required Echocardiogram Technologist Qualifications:

Graduation from a CAAHEP or CMA-approved School of Diagnostic Ultrasound, or equivalent amount of on-the-job training as outlined by ICAEL accreditation requirements.
National Certification in Ultrasound by one of the following organizations: American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Cardiovascular Credentialing International.
National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.

Echocardiogram Technologist Position Summary

As an Echocardiogram Technologist at our cardiology outpatient clinic, you'll play a critical role in performing diagnostic cardiovascular ultrasound procedures to assess patient cardiac health under the guidance of our physicians. Your responsibilities will include operating ultrasound equipment, patient preparation and care during examinations, and the precise documentation and reporting of the findings.

You will provide technical expertise in echocardiography to aid in patient diagnosis and management, ensuring optimal image quality and adherence to protocol. This role requires a blend of technical skill and compassionate patient interaction, offering a dynamic and fulfilling work environment.

Echocardiogram Technologist Responsibilities

Perform Cardiovascular Ultrasound Procedures:
Conduct exams using standard protocols and adapt methods based on pathology.
Explain procedures, obtain patient history, confirm identities, and ensure accurate documentation.
Monitor patient condition and safety throughout the exam.
Equipment Maintenance:
Execute daily sanitization of transducers, beds, and cables.
Conduct weekly backups and purges; maintain and clean equipment monthly to ensure functionality.
Administrative Duties:
Log procedures, record diagnostic codes, and manage patient data.
Retrieve and copy studies for physicians, complying with requests for information.
Quality Control and Education:
Participate in quality assurance initiatives and continuing education to meet lab accreditation standards.
Assist in training new personnel and ultrasound students, maintaining BCLS certification.
Equipment Servicing:
Monitor ultrasound systems, coordinate with service technicians for repairs, and verify functionality post-maintenance.
Collaboration and Professional Development:
Work with team members to optimize patient care and department efficiency.
Maintain professional certifications and participate in relevant associations.

Echocardiogram Technologist Pay and Benefit Expectations

Cardiac Study Center/ Pulse Heart Institute provides a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental, and retirement benefits, and paid time off. As various pay transparency laws require, CSC/ PHI shares a competitive compensation range for candidates hired into each position. The starting pay for this position is $39.50 and the pay scale is $39.50 - $63.19 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education.
