Inventory Management - Contractor – B - Civil, Electrical, & Mechanical Engineering Job ID: Ashburn, VermontJob Type: ContractAdded - 04/17/25 Job Description "A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring an Inventory Associate .Position Type: Full time ContractDuration: 12 monthsLocation: Ashburn, VA (Onsite)" Responsibilities Responsible for performing the physical or administrative tasks supporting the shipping, receiving, storing, and distribution of materials, parts, supplies and equipment, rejecting unsatisfactory items where necessary. Within parameters determine routing and arrangements for shipments, considering such factors as nature of items being shipped, method of handling, size, urgency, and cost. Consult rate schedule for specific rates depending on method of shipment and/or distance shipped. Assess the most economical and efficient common or contract carrier to transport shipments. Calculate and record storage, redelivery, and other applicable charges. May reroute urgent shipments or arrange for special delivery at destination. Prepare and maintain records of products shipped and track shipments. Receive incoming materials, unpack and check goods received against purchase orders or invoices. Verify quantity, weight, and conformance of materials to stated identifications. Maintain records of received goods, process freight bills, packing sheets, and other documents. Stock and distribute materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines. Lift heavy items and may operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, tow motors, forklifts, etc. upon receipt of internal certification. Knowledge of material handling procedures and Environmental Health and Safety requirements. May perform wood shop functions such as operating power saws and nail guns in building skids and crates. Ideal Candidate will have High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience, or 2 years post‑secondary/associate’s degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. Work‑related experience in a warehouse environment.
