Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience
License: Active Indiana Nurse License or compact nurse license
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association
Must-Have: Previous experience assisting anesthesia
Job Description:
- Ability to circulate all open chest cases and assist in procedures such as lines (swan, a-line, etc.), TEE, and labs
- Assist with anesthesia per required training
- Utilize equipment including EPIC charting, I-Stat, TEE, and Warming/Cooling units
- Call is required, approximately once every 7-10 days for weekdays/nights and one full weekend every 5-6 weeks
- Support other units such as general, orthopedic, and neuro as required
- Maintain compliance with dress code: cover cloth cap and bouffant, no rings, fake nails, nail polish, large earrings, or exposed necklaces
- Participate in unit-specific training and orientation programs, including Jumpstart and basic nursing/EPIC training for 2-3 days in the OR before independent practice
**Candidates must be comfortable with being trained to assist anesthesia as part of the assignment.**
