- Critical thinking ability
**Job Description:**
- Provide nursing care for adults and geriatrics in a Progressive Care Unit
- Care for patients with cardiac conditions, nephrology issues, strokes, diabetes, and those requiring continuous EEG monitoring
- Titrate drips as required, including Cardizem, beta-blockers, and seizure medications
- Work with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5
- Collaborate with charge nurses and patient care techs, following a 1:10 or 2:20 ratio
- Work shifts from 0630-1900 or 1830-0700; required to work every third weekend with cyclic rotation
- Meet holiday requirements on a rotating basis
- Potential to float to medical floors, ICU, or rehab as needed
- Participate in orientation during the first week, with an additional 1-2 days on the floor
- Adapt to a fast-paced environment, using problem-solving skills and helping others as needed
- Utilize EPIC for charting
- Work in a Level 2 Trauma acute care setting
