Whether at the Director or Senior Director level, you’ll influence policy, guide complex analyses, and collaborate across the enterprise to deliver strategies that align with APS’s mission of safety, reliability, and affordability. What Your Day Would Be Like You are responsible for: Lead rate strategy and pricing initiatives that drive short- and long-term business objectives. Develop and implement regulatory policies that support compliance and operational excellence. Direct cost-of-service studies and tariff development, ensuring alignment with corporate strategic plans. Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies and industry groups. Represent APS nationally, contributing to forums and thought leadership on rate design and regulatory issues. Guide research and complex analyses to support innovative rate mechanisms and regulatory strategies. Who We’re Looking For Strategic thinker with deep knowledge of utility rates, pricing, and regulatory frameworks. Proven leader experienced in managing teams, influencing policy, and driving enterprise-wide initiatives. Strong communicator and collaborator, able to build relationships with regulators, industry peers, and internal stakeholders. Analytical expertise in cost-of-service modeling, rate case preparation, and regulatory compliance. Forward-looking professional passionate about shaping rate design and advancing energy policy at state and national levels. Adaptable and results-driven, with the ability to navigate complex challenges and deliver innovative solutions. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's or advanced degree in business, finance, engineering or related discipline And ten (10) years of directly related experience or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. Five (5) years’ experience in a leadership role with proven ability to develop and manage high performing teams. In-depth knowledge of the electric utility industry and associated regulatory / legislative issues, energy marketing and trading and related compliance requirements. In-depth knowledge of state regulatory issues, FERC operations and federal utility regulatory requirements. Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge Or Qualifications Strong critical thinking and creativity skills along with the ability to exercise sound judgment by making decisions based on accurate and timely analyses. Must be results focused, with the ability to set challenging goals that are relevant and measurable. Ability to work across all functional areas of the company to establish credibility and engage others to ensure the most effective solutions are in place. Ability to adapt to changing and complex environments. Effective communication demonstrated through written communications and presentations skills. Strong project management and process improvement focus. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet. Major Accountabilities Plan, evaluate and recommend strategies, programs, policies and processes for the department that align and support the overall regulatory strategy and business objectives. Develop and manage the setting and achievement of long-term and annual department goals that have company-wide impact. Identify organizational needs and recommend and implement solutions to overcome challenges. Design and develop policies for areas of responsibility and anticipates impact of policies. Select and develop a high performing team through effective coaching, performance feedback, recognition, training and developmental opportunities. Lead the revenue requirement and rate design teams in the development of pricing strategies that support the company's financial objectives. Provide periodic reports to Senior Management and the Board of Directors regarding the significant aspects of Compliance. Provide executive management with short and long-term outlooks on regulatory pricing strategy, policy, and compliance issues that impact the business and propose and initiate actions to resolve conflicts and allow leadership to effectively manage business strategy and operations. Direct and oversee the management of regulatory proceedings and required filings for the PWCC subsidiaries. Full authority for the development and management of the budget in the area of responsibility and initiate actions in cases of deviations. Represent business interests on major projects to ensure that informed decisions are made on issues impacting business needs. Actively seek to improve own skills and knowledge to apply to current and emerging business and environment.
