**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) - Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Stepdown
**Job Specialty:** PCU RN - Stepdown
**Job Duration:** 13 weeks
**Shift:** 12-Hour Nights, Every Other Weekend, Must Work Christmas
**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week
**Experience:** Minimum 2 years
**License:** Not specified
**Certifications:** ACLS, BLS
**Must-Have:**
- Travel experience required
- COVID vaccine or declination form with supporting documentation from clergy or MD
**Job Description:**
- Be prepared to float to sister facility
- Complete SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion & central line dressing changes (excluding certain units)
- Maintain competency in sterile field
- Participate in education-based lifts, restraints, & wound care training
- Work in an 18-bed PCU focusing on telemetry and medical/surgical patients
- Handle common diagnoses, including neurology, cardiology, urology, orthopedic, general surgery, renal, pulmonology, and infectious disease
- No cath lab, CVOR, or CT surgery available; no invasive neurology
- Draw labs (nursing, PCTs, and CNs) as there is no phlebotomy team
- Utilize Cerner EMR
- Collaborate with in-house hospitalist or intensivist during day shifts; emergency responses handled by ED MD
- Facilitate care with the support of PCT/Nursing Aides on days and nights
- Comply with weekend and holiday rotation requirements
- Wear navy scrubs as the designated color
- Occasionally float to Tele and MS Tele units; possible floating to another campus
- Receive floor-specific orientation
- Leverage 24/7 RT and pharmacy support
