Title Journalism Fellow, The Daily Signal Reports to Editor-in-Chief, The Daily Signal Job Summary The Journalism Fellow works alongside the editorial team to produce compelling news content across all media platforms. This fellowship provides an opportunity for mentorship, professional development, and hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced newsroom. This is a one‑year fellowship. Job Duties Pitch, film, edit and appear in original, newsworthy, video content on a variety of original stories, with a particular focus on Capitol Hill and the White House, following editorial guidance laid out the Daily Signal leadership team. Work collaboratively to help produce a variety of weekly shows, including, but not limited to, The Signal Sitdown, Problematic Women, Victor Davis Hanson: In His Own Words, and Victor Davis Hanson: In a Few Words. Draft and schedule social media posts. Create thumbnails and other social media graphics. Help develop innovative approaches to storytelling and audience engagement. Contribute to special projects and investigative reporting efforts. Participate in editorial planning meetings and pitch original story ideas. Represent The Daily Signal at appropriate media conferences and functions. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree Experience: Past journalism and/or college news reporting or video experience preferred Communication: Excellent editing and writing skills Technology: Microsoft Suite, WordPress, Adobe Suite Other Requirements Understand and support The Daily Signal’s goals and objectives. Ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize them, and deliver first‑rate work. Able to think creatively and innovatively and use data to inform strategy. Superb organizational, collaborative, and interpersonal skills. Strong attention to detail. Fact‑check content for accuracy and verify sources. Benefits and Salary The salary for this role is $55,000 annually.
