**Shift:** Day Shift with On-Call Rotation
**Guaranteed Hours:** 40 hours per week
**Experience:**
- Minimum 2 years of overall RN experience
- At least 1 year of critical care experience
- Cardiovascular Intervention experience required
**License:** Current RN licensure
**Certifications:**
- Current CPR certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- National Institute Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
**Must-Have:**
- Successful completion of EKG test prior to completing orientation
- Holiday coverage required
**Job Description:**
- Utilize the nursing process and critical thinking skills in collaboration with interdisciplinary team members to care for patients.
- Perform assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care based on patient needs.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments following approved nursing techniques, policies, procedures, standards of care, and applicable state laws.
- Ensure accurate and comprehensive documentation per the established standards of care for system and entity levels.
- Develop, initiate, and execute a patient care plan tailored to patient needs as prescribed by the physician and/or hospital policy.
- Utilize available resources to provide education and support to patients and families, ensuring comprehension at appropriate levels.
- Participate in unit performance improvement activities, including shared governance and professional nursing continuum.
- Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units/departments in support of the patient's longitudinal care plan.
- Engage in solving systems breakdowns, ensuring solutions are implemented effectively.
- Use critical thinking regarding patient safety and experiences; manage complex situations and delegate tasks appropriately.
- Escalate issues through the appropriate chain of command as needed.
- Influence the professional and organizational environments positively, participating in shared governance arrangements.
- Engage in personal development, supporting system-entity opportunities for continuous learning and growth, including developing or revising evidence-based practice guidelines.
- Support and participate in peer review and peer feedback opportunities.
- For Clinic and Ambulatory RNs, maintain a timely flow of patients, respond to telephone calls, and perform telephone triage of patients.
This is a Level 1 trauma center environment using EPIC EMR. Fluency in multiple languages is not required.
