Job Description:
- Provide nursing care for adult and geriatric patients with cardiac, nephrology, strokes, diabetes, and those requiring continuous EEG monitoring in a 35-bed stepdown unit.
- Maintain a patient ratio of 1:4-5.
- Titrate various drips including Cardizem, beta blockers, and seizure medications as needed.
- Collaborate with the charge nurse, who does not take regular patient assignments.
- Work with nursing aides/patient care technicians at a 1:10 or 2:20 ratio as required.
- Follow cyclic rotation for weekend and holiday shifts, working every third weekend and holiday.
- No call or standby requirements.
- Be flexible with floating to medical floors, ICU, or rehab as necessary.
- Participate in a comprehensive onboarding process with 1-2 days of unit-specific orientation.
