**Guaranteed Hours:** 40 Hours
**Experience:** One year imaging experience strongly preferred; Experience in invasive cardiovascular technology preferred; Cardiac diagnostic/interventional procedural experience preferred.
**License:** Registered Technologist, Radiology, Vascular-Interventional Radiology, or Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiology - R.T. (R)(VI)(ARRT) or R.T. (R)(CV)(ARRT); Department of Regulatory Agencies - Surgical Assistant License (Relevant for Colorado employed staff only)
**Certifications:** Advanced Cardiac Life Support (American Heart Association); Basic Life Support (American Heart Association)
**Must-Have:**
- High School Diploma/G.E.D. required; Associate Degree strongly preferred.
- Relevant certifications and registrations as noted.
- Proficiency in relevant medical imaging and technology.
**Job Description:**
- Provide quality patient care within the medical imaging department and perform high-quality images and exams.
- Maintain sensitivity to patient needs and follow standards of safe radiation practices.
- Demonstrate leadership abilities and act as a role model for other technologists.
- Assist physicians effectively in performing specialized cardiovascular procedures, including diagnostic and interventional catheterization, pacemaker/defibrillator implantation, IABP, and electrophysiology studies.
- Ensure patient safety during imaging procedures and adhere to radiation safety regulations, reducing exposure to ALARA.
- Produce quality images accurately and timely.
- Provide information and instruction to patients and families regarding procedures, responding to their needs.
- Assist and position patients during exams, observing and reporting unusual occurrences.
- Facilitate smooth patient flow, scheduling, and optimal use of equipment/resources.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, imaging personnel, students, and staff.
- Perform IV starts and contrast administration as required.
- Be adaptable and able to float to different locations within a defined area, as needed.
- Maintain technical operation of equipment and perform regular maintenance and quality checks.
- Participate in ongoing education, professional activities, and process improvement initiatives.
- Maintain compliance with all regulations and contribute to accreditation efforts.
- Effectively manage time, adapt to changing workloads, and prioritize tasks efficiently.
