**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN)
**Job Specialty:** Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
**Job Duration:** 13 weeks
**Shift:** Night; 7pm-7am
**Guaranteed Hours:** 36.00 hours per week
**Experience:**
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Preferred: NICU experience
**License:**
- Current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner in your state of residence
- For National License Compact states, valid licensure in your home state is required
**Certifications:**
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
**Must-Have:**
- Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider status according to the American Heart Association
- Proficiency in English (Read, Write, Speak)
**Job Description:**
- Collect and assess data pertinent to the healthcare consumer's health or the situation
- Analyze assessment data to determine actual or potential diagnoses, problems, and issues
- Identify expected outcomes for an individualized plan for the healthcare consumer or situation
- Develop a plan that prescribes strategies to achieve expected, measurable outcomes
- Implement the identified plan, coordinate care delivery, and employ strategies to promote a healthy and safe environment
- Delegate elements of care to appropriate healthcare workers following legal or policy parameters or principles
- Evaluate progress toward attaining goals and outcomes
- Practice in a manner that is congruent with cultural diversity and inclusion principles
- Communicate effectively in all areas of practice
- Collaborate with the healthcare consumer and other key stakeholders in nursing practice
- Demonstrate leadership in the professional practice setting and the profession
- Seek knowledge and competence that reflects current nursing practice and promotes futuristic thinking
- Integrate evidence and research findings into practice
- Contribute to quality nursing practice
- Evaluate personal and others' nursing practice in relation to professional standards and guidelines, relevant statutes, rules, and regulations
- Utilize appropriate resources to plan, provide, and sustain evidence-based nursing services that are safe, effective, and fiscally responsible
- Practice in an environmentally safe and healthy manner
- Practice ethically
- Promote shared governance or facility decision-making activities, developing and nurturing research to positively affect clinical outcomes and promotion
**Physical Requirements:**
- Ability to walk, stand, sit, lift, reach, stoop, bend, push, and pull
- Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies
- Intact sense of sight, hearing, smell, and touch
- Finger dexterity
- Critical thinking and ability to concentrate
- Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions
**Schedule Notes:**
- Scrub color: Navy blue
- Requests for time off not approved: Halloween, and request for just one holiday among Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve. Valentine's Day off is not guaranteed.
