Make independent decisions on engineering problems and methods. Drive innovation by contributing to product improvements and the development of cutting‑edge solutions. Represent the organization in vendor meetings to resolve critical questions and coordinate work plans. Autonomously manage several medium‑to‑high‑difficulty projects proactively. Accurately estimate and build project timelines within the phase‑gate product development framework. Manage multiple medium‑to‑high‑priority action items concurrently, effectively delegating work when necessary. Perform work that includes complex features and advanced problem‑solving. Conduct detailed feasibility studies for proposed products or systems, including reviewing design and development plans, cost estimates, and engineering proposals and specifications. Coordinate and schedule technical development activities, resolving engineering design and testing issues. Act as a liaison with internal customers and vendors to ensure design specifications meet user needs and requirements. Exhibit excellent communication skills, clearly explaining technical subjects based on the intended audience and reviewing the work of junior engineers. Create high‑level PowerPoint presentations to communicate complex engineering concepts and project evaluations to internal stakeholders and external vendors. Use advanced Excel functions (e.g., pivot tables, macros) to streamline data analysis and reporting. Perform high‑level 3D CAD modeling and 2D drafting for medium‑to‑high‑difficulty projects, including advanced static FEA studies with minimal consultation. Continuously review and implement changes to ensure active projects remain on schedule. Prioritize engineering projects in alignment with organizational needs and strategic goals. Maintain close collaboration with team leaders, business unit managers, and the executive team. Provide direction and mentorship to other engineers within the department and project teams. Minimize negative financial impacts during project implementation across various facilities. Collaborate closely with Product Management to develop new products and customer‑desired feature sets. Perform other duties as requested. Qualifications Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited institution or program. Experience: Three (3) or more years of direct work experience in product development and engineering. Skills: Excellent technical, analytical, planning, and organizational skills. Solid understanding of new product development (NPD) and new product introduction (NPI) processes. Broad knowledge of academic engineering principles and a basic understanding of business‑related initiatives. Demonstrated experience facilitating complex projects and solutions with multiple interactions. Strong conflict resolution skills and proven team leadership experience. Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present both technical analyses and financial justifications to support decision‑making at all organizational levels. Ability to function effectively in an environment of changing priorities, goals, and direction, often under stressful conditions and time constraints. Strong team focus and the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
