Overview The Senior Mechanical Product Development Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and testing new Cold Plunge Tanks and related products, and improving existing ones. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring products to market while adhering to design principles and governmental and industrial regulations specific to the cold plunge tank, pool, and spa products. This role involves designing components, building prototypes, conducting testing, optimizing product performance and manufacturability, and documenting the product for introduction to manufacturing. Key Responsibilities Design and Development: Design new products and modify existing ones, considering factors like performance, reliability, and manufacturability. Technical Expertise: Apply knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including management, marketing, customer service, operations, and manufacturing, to ensure project success. Testing and Analysis: Conduct experiments, analyze data, and report results to identify areas for improvement and optimization. Sourcing: Identify and communicating with suppliers to get quotes and develop components, processes, or services. Documentation: Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, reports, Bills of Material, SOPs, shop instructions, etc… Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve technical issues that arise during the development or production process. Compliance: Ensure products meet relevant regulations and standards. Project Management: Contribute to project planning, execution, and monitoring, adhering to timelines and budgets. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve existing products and processes. Required Skills and Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Experience: 4 - 10 years of experience in product development or design, preferably in the following areas: Consumer products and equipment. Plastic manufacturing, injection molding, rotomolding Assembly, QC, and product documentation Technical Skills: Proficient in SolidWorks and other design and analysis tools. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaboration and reporting. Project Management Skills: Ability to manage projects, meet deadlines, and work within budgets. Knowledge: Understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes.
