Senior Network Engineer - Fortinet (Contract-to-Hire) Location Hybrid - 2 days onsite in Boulder, CO Compensation $120K-$140K upon conversion About The Role Our client is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to design, implement, and optimize our enterprise network infrastructure. This role bridges the gap between architecture and administration—turning high‑level designs into secure, efficient deployments. You'll work closely with our Network Architect and IT Operations team to build a resilient, modern network that supports their growth. Key Responsibilities Implement network designs across Fortinet, Cisco, and other platforms. Configure and manage Fortinet FortiGate firewalls, FortiSwitches, FortiAPs, and FortiManager environments. Deploy and maintain high‑availability systems for network resilience. Optimize network topology, redundancy, and capacity in collaboration with the Network Architect. Monitor, tune, and troubleshoot WAN/LAN/WLAN and VPN performance. Manage network security: firewall policy audits, vulnerability mitigation, and compliance. Document configurations, standards, and disaster recovery procedures. Mentor Network Administrator and assist with escalated incidents. Support IT projects such as network modernization and IoT security segmentation. Participate in on‑call rotation and after‑hours maintenance. Top Skills – Must Haves Fortinet Expertise (Highest Priority) FortiGate firewalls (e.g., 4040 gates) FortiSwitches, FortiAPs Tools: FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiNAC Configuration, troubleshooting, and optimization Network Design & Operations Routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs Network architecture and protocols Network Security Firewall policy management Secure‑by‑design mindset Documentation & Audit Support Nice to Have Cisco routers and network design experience Employee Value Proposition Work with Fortinet's latest tools and explore AI‑driven network solutions.
