Assistant Store Manager

Join to apply for the Assistant Store Manager role at O'Reilly Auto Parts Overview The Assistant Store Manager will support the Store Manager in areas of sales, customer service, store appearance and store operations. The role will manage the store during the Store Manager’s absence and/or when working opposing shifts. The Assistant Manager will be expected to lead the store team members in providing excellent service to customers. Essential Job Functions Lead team members in delivering exceptional customer service to retail and professional customers. Supervise the customer service level in the retail showroom, ensuring team execution on programs such as Related sales, Hi5, Rock the Call, Never Say No, Rock the Lot. Work with the store manager to ensure the retail sales counter is adequately staffed, especially during peak hours. Assist the store manager in setting team member goals, providing feedback on goal achievement, coaching/mentoring team members, and ensuring team members stay current on their individual training. Assist in the hiring process by completing recruiting tasks, scheduling and participating in interviews, evaluating candidates, and collaborating with management to ensure the selection of qualified team members. Ensure telephone is answered according to company policy. Process buy online/ship to store, hub and store to store transfers, and DC add orders in a timely manner and contact customers upon shipment arrivals as needed. Utilize the electronic outside purchase order ledger to handle special orders and outside purchases efficiently and according to procedure. Process retail customer returns and exchanges in an efficient and friendly manner, issue refunds accurately using the correct payment methods, and stage returned merchandise correctly. Invoice all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, before product leaves the store. Communicate Zipline messages, and delegate and complete Image Maker and merchandising tasks as assigned. Ensure all team members comply with company policies, specifically adhering to the posted work schedule, approving changes/deviations, and clocking in/out accordingly. Perform all store opening/closing duties, including day end procedures, securing money/deposits, preparing bank deposits, ensuring security lights are on, locking doors and securing the building, arming/disarming security alarms, and checking/securing delivery vehicles. Assist the store manager in maintaining the store building, parking lot, exterior signage/lighting, computer hardware, in-store service/test equipment, and delivery vehicles. All other duties as assigned.
