**License:** Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing
**Certifications:** BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
**Must-Have:**
- Intermediate/Stepdown RN experience.
- Comfortability with MedSurg assignments.
- EPIC experience for first-time travelers.
**Job Description:**
- Work in a mixed acuity unit, handling Intermediate Care as well as Telemetry and MedSurg assignments.
- Care for patients with surgical needs including urology, general abdominal surgeries, and ortho trauma.
- Handle neuro/spine cases such as CVA/TIA, seizures, epilepsy, brain tumors, and spinal surgical procedures.
- Manage general medical cases including cellulitis, flu, COVID, pneumonia, COPD, CHF, renal failure, and more.
- Perform wound care and monitoring of telemetry patients.
- Conduct cardiac strip interpretation, manage chest tubes, trach care (no fresh traches), and handle other specialized equipment.
- Perform medication administration, TPN/tube feeding, blood product transfusions, and manage urinary and fecal collection devices.
- Titrate medications including Heparin, Insulin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Levophed.
- Work within a support structure including pod teams, charge nurses, and a flex nurse staffed daily.
- Utilize the Epic charting system, and adapt to floating within adult inpatient units as needed.
- Participate in a comprehensive 2-day orientation and on-unit training with a preceptor.
- Work flexible shifts, including up to 4 weekends in a 6-week schedule, with the possibility of WOW shifts.
- Maintain compliance with monthly audits for pre/post pain scoring.
