Echo Technologist- Non-Interventional Cardiology

Job Description Performs Cardiac diagnostic ultrasound procedures as well as EKG, Stress Testing and Holter Monitor procedures outlined in policies/procedures of the Cardiopulmonary Laboratory. Assumes responsibility and accountability for patients in the department and provides care to these patients through assessment, observation and documentation. Performs other related duties incidental to the work described within. Work is primarily independent. Stays abreast of current changes in care by attending training and in-service programs. Education: Graduate of an accredited school of cardiopulmonary/ultrasound technology with current or pending registration. Will consider previous training and experience. RVS/RDCS or equivalent preferred but not required. Previous experience in cardiovascular diagnostic testing preferred. BLS certification is required. ACLS certification is preferred but not required. RVS/RDCS or equivalent is preferred but not required. Environment: May be exposed to infections and contagious disease. Regularly exposed to the risk of blood borne diseases. Exposed to hazardous anesthetic agents, blood fluid and waste. Subject to electrical and radiant energy hazards. Exposed to hazards from electrical/mechanical/power equipment. Occasionally exposed to radiation hazards. Exposed to odorous chemicals and specimens. Exposed to housekeeping/cleaning agents/chemicals. Occasional exposure to unpleasant patient or unit elements. Exposed to unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries and illness).
