Location US (preferred Austin, TX or Chicago, IL) Role Responsible for maintaining the Azure Platform architecture supporting CDK Public Cloud Governance and product/application adoption Design/development of Azure governance solutions (managing security, cost optimization and tech debt) Develop/maintain/implement cloud platform standards (IAM, tagging, security, account management, networking, DR, database, etc.) Support product development teams and infrastructure teams in the implementation of governance solutions (security, cost optimization, etc.) Maintain minimum application deployment standards (governance, cost management and tech debt perspective). Work with infrastructure technical leads to develop and maintain domain standards (database, networking, compute, security, messaging, etc.) Work with Security to define security requirements and controls, design and implement solutions (e.g., Defender, Sentinel, Azure Key Vault) to support overall security of the CDK Azure environment Work with Infrastructure engineering teams to ensure standards and reference solutions are developed with respect to domain areas (Data Protection, Disaster Recovery, etc.) Analyze complex business and software requirements leading to the selection and implementation of appropriate technical public cloud solutions (e.g., Secrets Management, Messaging, etc.) Ensure software and development requirements align to defined public cloud infrastructure service standards Ensure architecture, process, standards and best practices documentation is current Optimize and tune designs based on performance and root cause analysis Analyze existing solutions alignment to infrastructure standards and provide feedback to evolve and mature the solution Influence and guide the Infrastructure Services Roadmap with your experience and skillset During cloud operational issues, assist product and operational teams to identify root cause and recommend remediation activities Essential Skills & Experience This is a hands-on role where the candidate is expected to take on technical tasks with in-depth knowledge of Azure/public cloud technologies Preferred 6-8 years of Azure experience with the following services/capabilities Compute/DB: VMs, Azure DB, SQL Server MI Networking: Load Balancing, vNets, Availability Zones/Regions, WAF/FW, ExpressRoute, VPN, Private Link, DNS, etc. Storage: Block, BLOB, Archive Services, Azure Container Storage, etc. Security: Service Control Policies, IAM, Defender, Sentinel, etc. Cloud FinOps: Azure Advisor, Cost Management & Billing Other: OpenSearch, Backup 2-4 years of experience using data analytics and Azure cost investigative techniques/tools to identify cost optimization opportunities and collaborate with application teams 3-5 years implementing and managing security controls in an Azure environment 2-3 years development/scripting experience (Python & Java preferred) leveraging Azure CLI/SDK 2-3 years of experience with Infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform/OpenTofu) and related DevOps tools for automated deployments Broad understanding across full stack infrastructure technologies; expertise in at least 4 areas with willingness to learn the rest Database solutions (SQL/NoSQL) Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) DevOps processes and tooling Messaging, data streaming and caching solutions (MQ, Kafka) Micro-service architecture Networking principles and concepts Disaster Recovery solutions Azure Cost Optimization solutions (rightsizing, storage optimization, etc.) Site Reliability Engineering practices Experience in an Infrastructure team using multi-cloud and Private/Public/Hybrid models General knowledge of server-based operating systems (Windows/Linux) and Web Services (IIS, Apache) Strong analytical and presentation/communication skills Experience designing, optimizing and troubleshooting public cloud platforms for large, complex application stacks Clear and concise communication and ability to work with all levels in the organization Preferred but not required: Azure Solutions Administrator/Architect certification Compensation $122,000 - $150,000 CDK Global is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Compensation packages are based on factors including skills, experience, certifications, and work location.
