**Job Specialty:** Cardiac Catheterization Lab Staff
**Job Duration:** 13-week contract
**Shift:** Days; 4x12-hour shifts per week
**Guaranteed Hours:** 48 hours per week
**Experience:** Minimum of 2 years required, 5 years preferred
**License:** RN license required
**Certifications:** CPR, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, EKG
**Must-Have:**
- Associate degree in nursing required; bachelor's degree preferred
- Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking)
- Travel experience required
**Job Description:**
- Assess and reassess young adult, adult, and elderly patients, applying the nursing process.
- Demonstrate basic competency in specialized procedures/equipment.
- Care for and/or recover patients pre/post interventional cardiac procedures.
- Manage care of patients with vascular closure devices: application, maintenance, and removal.
- Maintain/pull arterial and/or venous sheaths and operate the ACT machine.
- Assist with the administration of minimal and moderate sedation, following safety guidelines.
- Aid in transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE) with safety and procedure guidelines.
- Perform the bubble method when assisting with TEE as required.
- Manage pain and follow-up reassessment.
- Conduct blood draws and order appropriate laboratory tests.
- Administer IV therapy and infusion of blood and blood products.
- Manage information, synchronized cardioversion, ICDs, and pacemakers (temporary and permanent).
- Assist with vascular procedures, including IVC filters and occlusion management.
- Support peripheral balloons and stents, thermodilution, and invasive monitoring.
- Assist with complex procedures such as intravascular ultrasound (IVUS), interventional radiology, and electrophysiology EP procedures.
- Handle RF ablations, cryoablations, intra-aortic balloon pump insertions, and loop recorder insertions.
- Monitor for, manage, and address anaphylactic reactions using an anaphylactic kit.
- Utilize MAC Lab System Monitoring.
