Job Summary An orthopedic surgeon specializes in preserving, investigating, and restoring the form and function of the extremities, spine, and associated structures through medical, surgical, and physical methods. This role is vital in caring for patients with musculoskeletal issues, including congenital deformities, trauma, infections, tumors, metabolic disturbances, and degenerative diseases affecting various parts of the body in both children and adults. Key Responsibilities Conduct patient interviews to gather comprehensive information regarding symptoms, medical histories, and family histories. Perform and interpret diagnostic tests as required. Diagnose conditions and create treatment plans for injuries or illnesses. May prescribe and administer medications as necessary. Maintain and review detailed patient records, including medical histories, examination findings, treatment plans, and outcomes. This position typically operates within a clinical and office environment. The orthopedic surgeon is responsible for meeting specific job obligations and adhering to all organizational policies and procedures. Position Requirements Education: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) is required. Licensure: Must be a Licensed Medical Doctor in the state of Pennsylvania.
