**Job Description:**
- Provide physical therapy services for acute care patients, skilled nursing unit residents, and outpatients.
- Evaluate patient needs, establish physical therapy treatment plans and goals for each patient.
- Carry out prescribed treatments as ordered by the physician.
- Document patient treatment and report progress to the prescribing physician.
- Participate in patient and family education and patient care conferences.
- Assist department manager in performing quality measures and monitoring department problems.
- Observe departmental policies and procedures.
- Maintain professional standards regarding treatment procedures and ethics.
- Ensure the safety of property and patients under treatment.
- Help assess department staffing needs.
- Maintain all departmental records per department policies.
- Assist in estimating departmental needs and ordering supplies and equipment when needed.
- Assist in new-hire training within the therapy department.
- Comply with organizational policies and procedures and related departmental procedures.
- Follow all HIPAA regulations.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service skills for both inter and intra-department interactions.
- Perform other duties as assigned by physicians and supervisors.
- Undertake other general administrative duties and projects as assigned.
**Physical and Mental Demands:**
- Work closely with patients across all age categories, with care and compassion for age-specific considerations.
- Engage in varied activities including standing, walking, reaching, bending, and lifting. Requires full range of body motion.
- Occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Manual dexterity required to operate computers, telephones, and office/medical equipment as necessary.
- Maintain corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
- Capable of working in stressful situations with a fast and continuous work pace.
- Manage interactions subject to interruptions and emotionally charged situations.
**Working Conditions:**
- Perform work in a clinic environment with frequent contact with patients, physicians, and staff.
- Potential exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, medicinal preparations, and clinical conditions.
