**Description:**
Join our team as a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit, specializing in Ortho Neuro Surgical care. You will work in a mixed acuity unit handling Intermediate Care, Tele, and MedSurg patients. Surgical cases include urology, general abdominal surgeries, and orthopedic trauma. Neuro cases involve CVA, TIA, seizures, brain tumors, aneurysms, and spinal surgeries like laminectomies and fusions. Experience with post neuro-intervention is preferred, but education and resources will be provided if needed.
The unit features a pod structure, with support from nurse aides and a dedicated charge nurse per floor. Our team includes resource nurses and access to phlebotomy and respiratory therapy support. Charting is done using Epic, and experience with this system is highly preferred.
You will manage various patient care tasks, including telemetry monitoring, cardiac strip interpretation, and wound care. Skills in line management, drip titration, and medication administration are essential. The role requires flexibility to float to other adult inpatient units as needed.
Orientation includes two days of department orientation and two shifts working with a preceptor, ensuring a smooth transition into the role. Schedules are set in six-week blocks, with weekend rotations, and potential opportunities for extra shifts. Navy blue scrubs are the designated attire for this position.
