Position Title : Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering Position Number : Department : School of Engineering Full-Time Description The Fred DeMatteis School of Engineering and Applied Science invites applications for an anticipated tenure-track faculty position at the assistant professor level in mechanical engineering in the Department of Engineering at Hofstra University. The department seeks a faculty member with an earned Ph.D. in mechanical engineering or a closely related field. Hofstra's engineering programs are rapidly growing, and the successful applicant will contribute to a top-tier undergraduate educational experience. Candidates must be effective communicators with a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching, initiate sustained research involving advanced undergraduates, and seek external funding for research. Start date: September 1, 2026. Qualifications Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field. Demonstrated commitment to building a diverse and inclusive community. Salary Range : $100,000 – $110,000 Additional Information Hofstra University provides the above salary as a good faith estimate of the starting pay range which considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience and education.
