Certifications: Requires advanced certification in CT. Must-Have: Completion of an accredited educational program in Radiological Science. Description: Conducts procedures and tests using Computerized Tomography (CT) equipment to acquire and analyze patient diagnostic data. Uses professional manners and methods, verifies patient identification, obtains patient history, and assists patients and family members requiring extra attention. Ensures patient understanding whenever possible and assures patient safety. Verifies patient identification and documents pregnancy status for patients of childbearing age. Obtains images per protocols and manipulates images according to protocols. Performs multi-planar and 3D reconstruction of image data. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of CT algorithms and selects appropriate window and level settings according to anatomy. Administers oral contrast to adult and pediatric patients according to protocols. Establishes intravenous lines and administers IV contrast following safe and proper injection procedures. Follows correct procedure to determine contrast eligibility and checks appropriate lab values before contrast injection per protocol. Maintains thorough understanding of PACS and transmits images to quality control, electronic medical records, and PACS. Verifies and segments images at the quality control station and accesses service tools to verify image transmission. Completes, modifies, and cancels orders in an appropriate and timely manner to avoid duplicate billing. Insures that all charge information is accurate and verifies all appropriate demographic information. Performs tasks in a timely manner and runs the schedule to create a consistent workflow. Volunteers to work on challenging tasks and difficult procedures. Produces quality diagnostic images and reviews patient's charts and reports for correlation. Maintains a clean and orderly work environment and documents incidents as improvement opportunities.
