2 days ago Be among the first 25 applicants Job Summary Responsible for completing detailed and itemized material quantity estimates from owner or contractor furnished plan sets. Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities Research plans and specifications and identify any special material or treatment plant requirements and determine the general scope of work. Determine if company‑supplied material meets local/state/federal specifications. Determine accurate and detailed quantities of products and related specialty materials as measured from treatment plants. Accurately identify the type of material necessary for construction or enhancement of facilities. Communicate with material vendors and accurately determine availability and delivery times for specialty products. Communicate with design engineers or owners to clarify any unusual or special material issues via phone, email, or written Requests for Information (RFI). Meet with owners/engineers/architects to assist with or suggest specific design/build concepts. Meet with local engineering design teams to recommend value‑engineering options for bid projects. Actively work with sales teams to design successful bid strategies. Assist in bid preparation and ensure customers receive quotations in a timely manner. Track and monitor competitor pricing to determine market value of bids. Coordinate and review the work of other estimators or sales staff as a senior employee. Conduct continuing education, training, and mentoring of other sales and estimating staff on a regular basis. Preferred Qualifications 10+ years prior experience in the treatment plant industry. Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline. This information indicates the general nature and level of work performed by associates in this role.
