Director of Operation - Industrial Mechanical Field Construction & Millwright Services - Texas Gryphon Oakwood are currently working on a Director of Operations role to manage Industrial Mechanical Field Construction and Millwright Services for a Turnkey Specialty Contractor based in Texas. In this role you will be responsible for leading all Construction Operations and Business Development.

Qualifications

10+ years of progressive leadership experience in industrial mechanical construction, millwright services, or heavy industrial contracting. Proven success overseeing large-scale projects and multi-disciplinary teams in Texas or surrounding regions. Strong knowledge of construction management, fabrication, installation, and maintenance practices. Demonstrated track record of improving operational performance, safety, and profitability.

Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to travel as required across job sites.

Key Responsibilities

Provide strategic and hands‑on leadership across all operational functions including construction, millwright services, fabrication, and maintenance. Oversee project delivery ensuring safety, quality, and profitability targets are consistently met. Lead and mentor operations managers, project managers, superintendents, and field crews. Develop and implement operational processes and best practices to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

Partner with Business Development and Estimating to support bidding, resource planning, and client engagement. Drive a culture of safety and compliance across all projects and job sites. Manage budgets, forecasts, and P&L accountability for operations. Ensure workforce planning, recruitment, and training initiatives align with company growth objectives.
