Overview The Nutrition Assistant assists the clinical dietitian by screening patients for nutritional risk, assisting patients with food selection, monitoring intake, providing nutrition education to patients and families. If you and have any concerns about receiving these vaccines, medical and/or religious exemptions can be further discussed with Human Resources. Responsibilities Identify patients at nutritional risk. Calculate nutrient intakes of in-patients and out-patients receiving enteral and parenteral nutrition using the most appropriate software and maintain nutrient database specific to menus at CMH. Provide nutrition care and education to patients and families. Monitor need for updating menus and distribute selected menus. Initiate and participate in quality improvement. Provide education and/or in-service training to students, staff, professionals, and community. Attends education programs, unit meetings and assigned committees. Qualifications Associate's Degree and 1-2 years experience in the following: Working with children in a school, camp or day care setting, working with the public, working with computers, working in a medical setting. Prior work experience in the same job may be accepted in lieu of a degree. The pay range for this job begins at $18.00/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience. Remote Work/Work from Home This is an intermittent remote position, which means that the person hired will work with his or her manager to determine a schedule that includes both at home and on-site hours at a Children’s Mercy location. The incumbent must live in the Kansas City metro area.
