Summary Of Position As an Electrical Project Designer supporting our Energy/EPC business unit, you will be responsible for designing and drafting electrical engineering projects under the guidance of Electrical Engineers/Project Managers. You are responsible for the design, coordination, and technical oversight of Level 2/ DCFC electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure projects based in Northern California. This position focuses primarily on electrical design and permitting, with regular field visits for site assessments and coordination with our in‑house construction team. The role ensures all designs meet code requirements, project specifications, and client standards while maintaining efficiency, safety, and constructability. 70% Design office work – Electrical design, AutoCAD drawings, calculations, and coordination. 30% Field Work – Site walks, construction support, commissioning. Responsibilities Develop complete electrical design packages for Level 2 / DCFC EV charging installations, including site layouts, single‑line diagrams, conduit and wiring plans, and load calculations. Conduct electrical load analysis and service capacity evaluations to determine utility upgrade requirements. Ensure all designs comply with NEC, local building codes, and utility standards. Prepare permit‑ready drawings and documentation for AHJ submissions. Conduct site walks to verify existing electrical infrastructure, panel capacity, grounding conditions, and charger placement feasibility. Field electrical experience preferred. Collect field data, photos, and measurements to support accurate design and layout. Coordinate with construction teams during installation to ensure design intent is followed. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred 3+ years of experience with EVSE (Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment) design and installation. Knowledge of utility service coordination, and utility metering. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Bluebeam for Electrical design and mark‑ups. Team This role will report to the Director of Electrical Engineering and work closely with a team of Designers and Engineers.
