POSITION SUMMARY The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is responsible for developing and implementing a Supplier Quality Program and ensuring all suppliers follow the process to drive production efficiency and minimize cost of poor supplier quality. This role offers a unique opportunity for professional growth and development as the SQE will work directly with global suppliers and collaborate closely with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Continuous Improvement to ensure best in class supplier quality for new product introduction and manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have experience interacting with suppliers, leading through a supplier quality program, and driving continuous improvement. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for the Supplier Quality Process. Collaborate with Quality Manager to Develop and Implement a Supplier Quality Program with KPIs and scorecards to track supplier quality Works directly with Commodity managers on improving Supplier Quality performance and provides technical support Responsible for Supplier Corrective Action Process (SCAR) Monitors system to prevent overdue actions Works with Suppliers on Corrective Actions and Verification Responsible for the Supplier Quality Approval Process (parts quality & process capability) Responsible for Organizing and Conducting Supplier AuditsResponsible for the Material Review Board process Responsible for Implementing and maintaining Metrics for Receiving Inspection and Layout inspection Work directly with suppliers to resolve Non-Conformances Develop and improve Quality related Processes related to Supplier QualityVerify and approve Supplier Changes MEASURES OF PERFORMANCE Sustainable performance improvements in Supplier Quality Non-conformance reduction Corrective Action Closure Time Receiving Inspection reduction (time and defect rate) QUALIFICATIONS Demonstrates experience and knowledge in the manufacturing and/or industrial industry Possess strong project management, organizational, and prioritization skills Exhibits commitment to continuous quality improvement. Strong ability to utilize statistical methods and implement new designs/processes to reduce variation. Values: Acts with a high level of personal integrity Discipline: Ability to drive process discipline Problem Solver: Data driven problem solving Experience with ERP systems (Oracle – JD Edwards preferred) and MS Office Strong communication skills Experience working with site certifications such as ISO9001 and ISO14001 EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology or related discipline Minimum of 3-5 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on Quality Experience in developing and/or managing Supplier Quality Programs and/or Supplier Development in a manufacturing environment Demonstrated working knowledge of GD&T methodology Trained in design for Six Sigma concepts preferred is a plus ASQ-Certified Quality Engineers (CQE-ASQ) certification is a plus PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing duties of the job, employee is required to move around and be still; use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT Noise level is minimal with intervals of spikes. Office working environment with occasional visits to the factory floor. Required to wear safety glasses and utilize other safety equipment as required while present on shop floor. Total Rewards The compensation range for this position is $94,600.00 - $142,000.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
