Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must be licensed or certified to deliver assessment and counseling services: Maryland Board of Social Work as LMSW/LCSW-C or by the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists as LCPC , CSC-AD or CAC-AD. ADTs will be considered based on skill level and progress towards certification.

Consideration may be given to certified counselors in Delaware if qualified for certification in Maryland. Will assist with Maryland certification.

Description

Brantwood Family Services is one of only four specialty residential SUD providers for pregnant and parenting women in the State of Maryland. We offer a unique treatment experience where women engage in residential treatment while also caring for their children. Brantwood Family Services is accredited by CARF International and licensed by the Maryland Behavioral Health Administration.

*Essential Duties and Responsibilities: *

The Primary Counselor assists in coordinating services for residential clients. This is accomplished by:
* Completing initial comprehensive assessment for residential clients;
* Creating person-centered treatment plans with residential clients with goals specific to substance use recovery and relapse prevention;
* Assisting in the development of their personal relapse prevention and wellness plan;
* Evaluating clients medication assisted treatment needs/plan of care and communicating needs to the Team;
* Reviewing & Updating Treatment Plan;
* Facilitating the transition planning process and coordinate aftercare;
* Being present in the milieu and using observations to assist in the treatment process; providing clients with support and skills training in the areas of emotional regulation and interpersonal challenges;
* Facilitating psychoeducation, relapse prevention, and wellness groups;
* Participating in weekly treatment team meetings, providing updates regarding relapse prevention & transition planning needs and progress;
* Facilitating family involvement;
* Promoting client participation in discussions of her plans, goals, status;
* Identifying and addressing gaps in the service provision;
* Sharing information on how to access community resources;
* Advocating for the client.

Starting pay is dependent on level of certification/licensure and experience.

Job Type: Full-time
