What You’ll Do Protect & Serve: Respond to emergencies, patrol neighborhoods, and ensure the safety of residents, businesses, and visitors. Engage the Community: Use outreach and collaboration to create meaningful connections with residents, schools, and businesses. Investigate and Enforce: Prevent and investigate crimes, enforce laws, and prepare cases for court testimony. Develop Your Career: Access specialized assignments such as Detective, K‑9 Handler, School Resource Officer, Motor Officer, SWAT, Drone Pilot, or Field Training Officer. Must be a U.S. citizen, or a lawful permanent resident. Must be able to meet physical standards. Possession of a valid California driver’s license and satisfactory driving record. College coursework or prior military experience. (At least 36 semester units from an accredited college or university, or a minimum of four years of active duty in the U.S. Armed Services with an Honorable Discharge). Strong moral character, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.
