Position Overview Role: Locum Physician Emergency Medicine Location: Lansing, Michigan Compensation: $290/hr 1099 Contract Shifts: Weekdays (M F): 6a 4p 10a 8p 12p 10p 4p 2a 8p 6a Weekends (Sat/Sun): 6a 4p 10a 8p 4p 2a 8p 6a Facility Snapshot Beds: 42 Trauma Level: III Annual ER Volume: 40,000 Patients per day: 110 Fast Track: Yes staffed by APPs (handles 15% of ED volume) EHR: Cerner Support: Full nursing staff + 12 hrs APP coverage daily Admissions: Hospitalist writes admission orders Supervision: APPs + residents Required Skills & Procedures Adult & Pediatric Outpatient Care Newborn Resuscitation Orthopedic (non displaced fractures) Suturing, Incision & Drainage Psychiatric (adult, child/adolescent, geriatric uncomplicated) Industrial medicine (acute diagnosis & management) Ventilation management (airway + modes up to 24 hrs w/o pulmonary consult) Acute volume/BP management Central Line, Arterial Line EKG Interpretation Arthrocentesis, Lumbar Puncture, Paracentesis Full spectrum EM procedures Why This Role Stands Out $290/hr locum independence with flexible scheduling Robust support system : APPs, residents, and hospitalists streamline workflow Diverse clinical exposure in a busy ED with trauma and fast track coverage Opportunity to lead and supervise while practicing at the top of your license Malpractice insurance coverage Travel, licensure, and certification reimbursement Full benefits (Health, Dental, Vision, 401K) for W2 employees Referral bonuses up to $3,000
