Senior Mechanical Engineer - Mission Critical (Fort Worth and Dallas) Join to apply for the Senior Mechanical Engineer - Mission Critical (Fort Worth and Dallas) role at Burns & McDonnell . Description The Senior Mechanical Engineer will lead mechanical design project teams to create world-class designs for various projects including power, process, healthcare, airports, industrial, and military facilities. They will oversee the project throughout the design and construction phases, adapting mechanical plans based on budget, design factors, or client needs. Lead mechanical design from conceptual to completion, aligned with project requirements. Prepare specifications, data sheets, RFQs, bid summaries, and purchase recommendations for mechanical equipment. Review vendor drawings and coordinate data interface with suppliers, clients, and other disciplines. Contribute to project scheduling, scope, budget, staffing, and construction planning; manage change orders effectively. Apply expert knowledge of mechanical concepts, codes, and procedures. Develop non-standard design solutions for complex projects. Review production drawings and project data for accuracy, using CAD software. Oversee construction administration, resolve installation issues, and conduct field inspections and testing. Lead field inspections, measurements, and calculations for clients. Prepare technical reports and build client and contractor relationships. Participate in sales, marketing, and business development efforts. Develop cost proposals, budgets, and performance reports. Provide leadership and mentorship within the mechanical engineering team. Ensure QA/QC adherence and safety compliance. Perform other duties as assigned, maintaining policy and standard compliance. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited program, with 7+ years of experience; EPC project experience preferred. Alternatively, a degree in Mechanical Technology with FE certification and 7+ years of experience. Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 6+ years of experience; EPC experience preferred. Strong knowledge of mechanical codes (ASME, ANSI, API, NACE) and computer skills. Excellent communication skills. Experience leading large discipline teams and resolving engineering issues. Critical thinking, attention to detail, and organizational skills. Ability to travel; PE license preferred. This job posting remains open until filled. Equal opportunity employer.
