**Experience:** Minimum of 2 years in a Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory or invasive procedure area in an acute care hospital. Completion of a 6-12 month Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT) accredited program or 2 years in another cardiac vascular laboratory.
**License:** Not specified
**Certifications:** Preferred - Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES), or Radiologic Technologist (RT).
**Must-Have:** Knowledge of electrophysiology intra-procedure mapping, ablation, implant devices, and the ability to scrub procedures.
**Job Description:**
- Assist physicians with procedures including Cardiac Catheterization, Angioplasty, Atherectomy, TEC, Rotablator, Valvuloplasty, Intravascular Ultrasound, and Pulmonary Angiograms.
- Prepare sterile trays and organize equipment for each procedure.
- Prepare patients by attaching EKG leads, performing Betadine scrub, and draping according to protocol.
- Assist cardiac catheterization nurses in patient monitoring preparations.
- Calibrate and test transducers for accurate pressure readings.
- Assist physicians throughout diagnostic and interventional procedures.
- Load and operate power injectors.
- Maintain standards for digital cine technologies, ensuring proper storage and retrieval of images and hemodynamic records.
- Download CD acquisitions to the hospital mainframe for review through intranet and internet.
- Support nurses and physicians in emergency situations to ensure patient wellbeing.
- Remove procedural sheaths post-transfer to nursing care or recovery.
- Assist with insertion of vascular closure devices.
- Notify appropriate personnel of diminished non-store room supplies for inventory control.
- Maintain, calibrate, and evaluate all diagnostic and technical equipment periodically.
- Lift a minimum of 40 lbs., push and pull a minimum of 100 lbs., and stand for a minimum of 4 hours a day.
- Identify and cater to the specific needs of the patient population served, considering factors such as age, culture, language, and impairments.
- Adhere to organizational competencies and standards.
- On-call duties and holidays as needed.
**Education:**
- Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree.
