We are currently looking for a
Senior Estimator
with extensive heavy civil construction experience in Hillsborough, NJ. A well-established civil construction company is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and driven estimating professional to lead competitive bids for complex heavy civil projects.
Schedule
Monday - Friday
8:00am - 5:00pm
Compensation
$150,000 - $200,000/year (based on experience)
Senior Estimator Responsibilities
Lead estimates and competitive bids for heavy civil projects by reviewing plans, specifications, scopes, and contract documents.
Perform detailed quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, and pricing for labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and other project costs.
Solicit, analyze, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier pricing to develop accurate, competitive bids.
Work closely with project managers, engineers, vendors, subcontractors, and leadership to develop complete estimates.
Identify project risks, cost concerns, exclusions, and opportunities while reviewing historical costs and current market conditions.
Prepare bid proposals, maintain estimating documentation, and ensure accurate, timely submission of multiple bids.
Senior Estimator Qualifications
Extensive experience estimating
heavy civil construction projects
, including complex civil work.
Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, materials, labor, equipment, subcontractor pricing, and procurement.
Proficient in quantity takeoffs, cost estimating, bid preparation, and interpreting drawings, specifications, scopes, and contracts.
Strong mathematical, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Proficiency with construction estimating software and Microsoft Office.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
