Injection Mold Designer

R&D Leverage is currently looking for a highly motivated individual seeking a rewarding career opportunity with a growing leader in the industry. Looking for an experienced injection mold designer to join our talented team. Mold Designer creates robust injection mold designs that consider customer standards along with manufacturing best practices. Will consider remote candidates.

Nature of assignments, duties, and responsibilities

·      Review customer data for tooling feasibility and propose design solutions.

·      Model mold design and create fully toleranced 2D manufacturing prints.

·      Confer with shop personnel on manufacturing plans

·      Hold internal and external mold design reviews

·      Work with suppliers to procure hardware and custom components.

·      Check peer mold designs

·      Support mold trials and mechanical debugging

·      Support estimating as needed

·      Other duties as assigned by manager

Requirements

5+ years of experience in injection mold design

Strong understanding of design for manufacturability

Ability to understand and incorporate customer standards / specifications into a mold design.

Ability to work in a steady professional manner with little or no supervision required.

Ability to work in a team environment and participate in engineering reviews.

Detail orientated.

Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Good MS Office skills.

Creo experience is a plus

Mold Flow experience is a plus

Prior estimating experience is a plus

High cavitation mold design is a plus
