Job Description:

Job Location : Los Angeles, CA or Plano, TX or Atlanta GA (Hybrid)

The role of an Atlassian Tools Administrator involves the following responsibilities:

System Configuration: Configure and customize Atlassian tools Jira, Jira Align, and Confluence to align Organization Operating Model workflows, processes, and business requirements. This includes server settings, databases, integrations, setting up and managing projects, workflows, issue types, permission schemes, and other configurations per request.

User Management: Manage user accounts, groups, roles, and permissions within Atlassian tools. Ensure appropriate access levels for different teams, departments, and external collaborators. Implement single sign-on (SSO) and authentication mechanisms for security and ease of access.

Connector Management and Troubleshooting: Jira Align requires resolution of sync and mapping errors between Jira Align and Jira. This is a crucial role in ensuring seamless integration and data synchronization between the two platforms. These issues can be blockers for the programs and the software they are delivering.

Integration and Automation: Integrate Atlassian tools with third-party applications (like ServiceNow), development tools, version control systems (like Bitbucket), CI/CD pipelines, and IT service management platforms. Configure automation rules, triggers, and notifications to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.

Plugin and Add-on Management: Install, configure, and manage plugins, add-ons (like Tempo), and extensions available in the Atlassian Marketplace to enhance the functionality and capabilities of Atlassian tools. Evaluate new plugins for compatibility, security, and business value.

Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor system performance, usage metrics, and resource utilization of Atlassian tools. Identify bottlenecks, optimize configurations, and implement best practices to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and reliability of the tools.

Security and Compliance: Implement security best practices, data encryption, access controls, and auditing mechanisms to ensure the security and integrity of data within Atlassian tools. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements such as GDPR, HIPAA, or industry-specific standards.

Backup and Disaster Recovery: Develop and maintain backup strategies, disaster recovery plans, and data retention policies for Atlassian tool instances. Test backups regularly and ensure data integrity in case of system failures or data loss incidents.

User Training and Support: Provide training, documentation, and support to users, teams, and administrators on using Atlassian tools effectively. Conduct workshops, create user guides, and resolve technical issues to improve user adoption and satisfaction.

Stay Updated: Keep abreast of new features, updates, and best practices related to Atlassian tools. Evaluate and recommend upgrades, migrations, or changes to the tool stack to meet evolving business needs and technology trends.

Collaboration and Communication:

Foster collaboration, transparency, and communication among Agile teams, product owners, Scrum Masters, and leadership stakeholders using Jira Align collaboration features, discussions, and notifications.

Facilitate alignment between strategic planning, execution, and delivery teams through effective use of Jira Align functionalities.

To summarize, an Atlassian Tools Administrator combines technical expertise with Agile methodologies and communication skills similar to a Coach to enable teams to work efficiently, deliver value iteratively, and achieve business objectives effectively using the Atlassian platforms.
