Summary/Objective 

The Service/ Repair technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties including: installation, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of rotating equipment, gearboxes, metering pumps and other industrial process equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the business’s goals and objectives.


Essential Functions

1.   Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical and hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of customer equipment.

2.   Read and interpret equipment manuals and drawings to perform required repair and service.

3.   Identify and use correct precision measurement tools to ensure repairs are within manufacturer specifications.

4.   Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.

5.   Be familiar with and able to perform regular preventive maintenance on process equipment.

6.   Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.

7.   Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. 

 

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. 


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.


Travel

Minimal travel is expected for this position.


Required Education and Experience

1.   High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.

2.   5+ years of mechanical repair experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical industrial skills and HVAC.
