Are you detail oriented and efficient? Do you love human resources and assisting in processing payroll? If so, this is the job for you We are partnering with our client to hire a Contract Human Resources Assistant. This position is responsible for performing a variety of administrative tasks associated with processing payroll and producing accurate and timely maintenance of employee records as well as working with various programs and procedures related to human resources.


CONTRACT: June 2024 - December 2024


2 days in office, 3 days remote


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in timely and accurate payroll processing for multi-state company.
  • Track and enter payroll exceptions and review for accuracy prior to submission.
  • Review timecards for errors and other incorrect entries.
  • Process post-payroll activities.
  • Provide support to field regarding payroll questions, timecards, tax questions (lived-in/worked-in tax issues).
  • Train managers and employees on how to use timecards and other features of payroll system.
  • Audit payroll and time information for accuracy.
  • Confirm tax withholding information for transfers and address changes.
  • Administer garnishment processing.
  • Organize and file payroll records and reports.
  • Perform data entry with a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Assist with various projects as instructed including data validation audits.
  • Process personnel status changes as necessary (departmental transfers and rate increases) ensuring appropriate manager and/or HR approval where appropriate and completion of tracking.
  • Process personnel information changes as necessary (change of address, direct deposit and withholding changes).
  • Follow up on blocked HSA accounts.
  • Maintain payroll and time employee records.
  • Maintain personnel files.
  • Assist with new hire paperwork and onboarding.
  • Back-up for others within the department as needed.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
  • Experience with UltiPro or other payroll/HRIS vendors, preferred.
  • Strong data entry speed and efficiency.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and stay on task.
  • Ability to follow directions thoroughly and accurately (both written and verbal).
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Human Resources or applicable experience.
  • The ability to work with confidential information is essential.
  • Previous payroll processing experience.
  • Ability to work and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
