Litigation Paralegal

Do you thrive in a fast-paced work environment that keeps you busy all day? If so, this is the position for you. Nuzzo & Roberts, LLC, located in Cheshire, CT is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to join our growing practice. Successful candidates will work on a variety of claims during all phases of the litigation process, handling all paralegal duties from start to finish on the files. Experience preferred, will train the right person with a "can-do" attitude.

Responsibilities

·        Obtain, review, and analyze/summarize medical records and prepare detailed correspondence regarding contents.

·        Draft pleadings and motions and file them with the court.

·        Maintain all court and company reporting deadlines.

·        Perform administrative duties (including scheduling, calendar management, organizing case files, reviewing and proofreading all documents and motions).

·        Prepare and answer Interrogatories and Requests for Production.

·        Gather and review investigation materials from a variety of sources.

·        Request records from medical providers, clients, police stations, etc.

·        Manage and consistently review files in order to keep them moving forward towards resolution.

Qualifications

·        Strong organizational and time management skills.

·        Strong written and verbal communication skills.

·        Strong attention to detail with a sharp eye for proofreading.

·        Excellent writing, spelling, and grammatical skills.

·        Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe.

·        Demonstrates high level of professionalism in all aspects of the job.

·        Team player who can also work independently.

·        State, Federal, Tribal and/or Appellate Court knowledge a plus.

·        Applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, and a thorough understanding of Practice Book a plus. 

·        Four-year degree with a solid GPA in Paralegal/Legal Studies or relevant field preferred, not required.
