Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated structured cabling technician to directly support industrial locations throughout South Florida. Hands-on experience with installing and troubleshooting network cabling is required. The successful candidate will also be responsible for the physical setup of networking equipment and end user devices.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities :
- Cable Installation: Install and terminate various types of cables, including copper and fiber optic, according to industry standards and project specifications.
- Cable Testing and Troubleshooting: Use cable testing equipment to verify the integrity of installed cabling and troubleshoot any connectivity issues.
- Rack and Cabinet Installation: Mount and secure network equipment, such as switches, patch panels, and servers, in equipment racks and cabinets.
- Cable Management: Implement effective cable management solutions to maintain a neat and organized cabling infrastructure.
- Labeling and Documentation: Accurately label cables and maintain comprehensive documentation of cabling layouts, connections, and changes for future reference.
- Compliance with Standards: Ensure that all cabling work complies with industry standards, such as TIA/EIA and BICSI, to guarantee optimal performance and reliability.
- Safety: Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment and prevent accidents.
- Project Collaboration: Collaborate with project managers, network engineers, and other team members to plan and execute cabling projects.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on cabling and network equipment to ensure it remains in optimal condition.
- Customer Service: Communicate with clients, end-users, and stakeholders to address concerns, answer questions, and provide support.
- Quality Control: Conduct quality control checks to ensure that all installations meet the established standards and expectations.

Qualifications:
Education/Specialized Knowledge/Professional Certifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Prior experience in structured cabling installation and maintenance is preferred.
- Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for structured cabling systems.
- Proficiency in using cabling and testing equipment.
- Familiarity with network components and equipment, such as switches, routers, and patch panels.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a neat and organized workspace.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and industry trends.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required for on-site service calls.

Experience :
- 3+ years of relevant experience with Windows computers and a wide variety of networking equipment
- Experience with low voltage solutions, including IP and analog cameras, voice and data structured cabling, AV systems,
digital signage, analog and IP phones, PA systems, and access control and security systems - Experience with industrial and office environments
- Experience reading building blueprints and schematic drawings
- Computer networking skills
Skills/ Abilities :
- Knowledge and understanding of basic networking terminology
- Ability to communicate with level 3 support while troubleshooting equipment
- Organizational and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities are required
- Must be able to maintain a positive attitude and provide exemplary customer service
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- A valid driver’s license and safe driving record
- Desire to do things the right way so the solution will be correct and durable
- Mechanical aptitude with ability to use hand and power tools
Working Conditions:
- Operates within a professional office environment and industrial sites
- Route usage of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets
- Industrial sits frequently require working outdoor and/or in areas with cement powder
- Industrial site work may occasionally require working at heights of 20-60’
- Local travel is required
