Technical Director - AV Events

Responsibilities:

• Act as point of contact for client questions related to video, lighting, audio, and general event needs
• Ability to act as a site lead if needed
• Work closely with event planners and producers to ensure that the technical setup meets the requirements and objectives of each event.
• Process and test new equipment to ensure proper functionality
• Set up, operate, breakdown, and maintain technical equipment for live events
• Be responsible for onsite coordination and oversight of all technical aspects of the production.
• Manage the team of technicians and engineers for live and virtual events
• Configure equipment and racks to ensure ease of setup and operation on-site
• Scan in/out orders to the company's inventory tracking system as needed
• Evaluate equipment that needs repair and assist with repairs as necessary
• Collaborate with other team members for successful events
• Quickly work to resolve technical issues as they arise
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Video experience is required.
• Strong knowledge of video, audio, and lighting terminology and operation of equipment
• Knowledge of computer networking and signal flow
• Working knowledge of standard broadcast equipment
• Advanced computer literacy in graphic design. Skills in Adobe Suite - Photoshop, Premier, and After Effect preferred
• Understanding of current best practices and programs for virtual events
• Understanding of IP networks (Internet, Intranet, VPN, Dante, NDI, etc…)
• Proficiency in at least one Computer Aided Design program (Vectorworks preferred)
• Ability to cultivate and maintain professional relationships with clients
• Ability to learn and stay current with the newest AVL Technologies
• Working knowledge of LED walls and signal processing
• Working knowledge of video resolutions, chroma subsampling, and frame rates
• Working knowledge of lighting design.

• Well-rounded knowledge and skills in all areas of production preferred
• Strong ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve in a time-sensitive production environment
• Consistent “can do” attitude
• A team player with excellent communication skills
• High level of attention to detail and ability to adapt to changing circumstances

Travel Requirements:

• Travel required as needed both locally, nationally, and at times internationally.
• Driver’s license required
